Development Teams
Growing the future of cycling in New England
NEYC offers a Development Team experience for student-athletes in grades K-5. Development Teams help teach the fundamentals of mountain biking in a safe and fun environment. NEYC offers a Development Team “Race” during at least one of the NEYC races in-season, which gives Development riders a chance to experience NEYC race day on an abbreviated race course and watch the older student-athletes compete, giving them a sense of what the sport could offer in the future.
The zip code regions are much wider and less strict for Development Teams compared to the NEYC Race Teams. Development Teams welcome athletes who live beyond their general region, as long as they are committed to traveling to, and attending, team practices.
